6E: Grammar #4: Future Tense (due Friday, Feb. 7)
Tell me what you think the world will be like in 2020. What will have
happened that has not happened yet? What new technology will be invented
by then? Use FUTURE PROGRESSIVE and FUTURE PERFECT (at least once). Be
creative (of course). Extra points if you make me smile.

When we reach 2020, we will have been living totally different world. Especially innovations in technology and science will significantly change our life. For instance, people will be using a chip on their head to easily get information. Learning English will take just few minutes by transferring data via USB cable, so you can loss your job, be careful! :) Furthermore, another vital innovation will occur in mobile sector. Although iphones' will have come up with one day battery life (this is a big deal), Apple will have been passed in smartphone's sales by company Pineapple which will be the new China based Electronics Company. Finally, governments will have provided their infrastructure in considering technologic evolution. All public transportation will have gotten WiFi service and switches to charge cell phones' battery. On the other hand, unfortunately, some harmful cases will have been occurring. For instance, since smartphones' screen is increasingly getting larger, by 2020, people will be carrying a backpack just for their smartphones like laptop backpacks of today.

ReplyDeleteBy 2020, the world will have changed in technology. For example, Sony won't have been leading in personal laptop market which is called VAIO by the end of March 2014. Moreover, by 2016, Apple will have been offering many new Iphones and Ipads for 9 years. The iphone's screen will have been replaced by new material which is more rigid and durable for the next Iphone generation by the end of summer 2014. In addition, computer will have disappeared in the future; people will have preferred to use tablets in working, entertainment and education by 2018.

By 2020, the human race will have had another great leap forward in human evolution. First of all, genetic engineer will have developed dramatically, there will no disease that human can't deal with. Getting sick will not be happened in 2020.
ReplyDeleteAlso, genetic technology will have solved famine, food shortage will never bother us anymore; bio-energy will blossom and replaces fossil fuel, the new and clean energy will have used extensively.
Second, our medical technology will have improved, surgery is going to be safer and more accurate, patients will recover quickly than before. Human race will become more longevity, and more powerful; super-human, a new human species will be created in near future, than one day the new human race will dominant the universe and conquer another unknown civilization. We are going to be invincible !!

By 2020, we will be living in a technological world more than it is already. The arrival of the robot will be impossible to avoid most of them will do the job we humans do in different areas. They will also have become in housewife, so they will clean, cook, and iron like The Jetsons comic. I think women will be very happy. I mainly because I do not like to cook hahahaha. In education will not need to go to class since the class will be online. If you go, the teacher will be a robot. The laptops will also have been replaced by laser projections. We will have many interesting things, but I have a bad news the technological innovation will have the result that most of the people will lose human contact with each other and the majority of people will have a sedentary life that means maybe you will become an obese an person. Thinking about that!! Other thing is by the time you are 50 years o more, you have already been in the moon as going to Miami and will have practiced exciting activities like bungee jumping, skydiving or whatever you want to do that perhaps never before had you done.

DeleteI believe that the world will have changed drastically in many ways, when we get to 2020. Actually, by that time the whole population will have become obese. Why? Because nowadays thanks to the technological achievements people do not have to go outside to pay bills, to the supermarket, to the mall to buy clothes or even to the cinema to watch a movie. Indeed, everyone can do everything from their laptops, cellphones or TVs. In addition, by 2020 human kind will be one step closer to become robots. I really think that we will have a technological implant on our hand, which we will use to pay every transaction and it will have your entire life-information recorded. I wish none of this were true but it is probable that all of these situations happen. The fact that By 2020, the Earth will have been running out of water is another of my concerns. However, these are just assumptions but we will have to wait to see what will have happened to us by that time.

DeleteBy 2020, the earth WILL HAVE RUN out of water. I think you should study water technology to help avoid this catastrophe. But don't worry too much, we might not have water, but I'm sure there will still be coca cola ;)
Future is the only place where everything is possible and unpredictable. Many years ago, nobody could imagine that someday it could take only a day to travel half way round of the world, or a click could bring all the stuffs you needed right to your house. But let's take a look at the world we are living now, where convenience and rapidity are the two first priorities, and every inventions we made are aimed to meet those requirements. That's why I think maybe there will have been a day when all the most unrealistic fairy tales come true. For example, by 2020, we may have been travelling on flying Arabic carpets instead of airplane, or even more ambitious, we will have had a medicine that can turn us into invisible form, or grant our longevity wish due to the development of cell biology. Who knows :)
ReplyDeleteHowever, if you ask me what will be my most expected invention, I will tell you that it must be some flying engine which can be attached to your car so that you can fly out of the traffic flow during rush hour. 3 days ago, I got stuck in a traffic jam in 2 hours, without moving an inch! And ever since then, the idea of such an engine has been clinging to my mind!
These are what I really believe to happen someday in the future :). But by 2020, the most remarkable change in technology, I think, will have been the replacement of "touch screen" generation, and the raise of "voice control" empire :D

By 2020, there will not be any major differences in my opinion, six years from now is not enough to create some major leaps in many fields, but i think that technology will still evolve eventually as it is evolving since a long time ago, maybe in six years all cars will be environmentally friendly but the odds of that happening is still very low, for me, i would never buy or drive such a car.
ReplyDeletethe major field that will have been evolving rapidly is the medical field, medicine evolves each and every day, they may find some cures for many diseases that dont have any these days.
On the other hand, global warming is the main issue that will affect the earths climate, as we have noticed in the last couple of years, winter is getting colder each year, and summer is getting warmer, and that problem has no solution that man can enforce, environment will not get better, the damage can be stopped, but would take hundreds of years for the earth to recover.

I don't think we can judge global warming on only the last couple of years. We'd have to look over hundreds of years or maybe thousands, I think. In Houston, the summers have not been getting hotter. They have always been terribly hot, well at least ever since I arrive here in the 90's.
By 2020 i think that we will have flying cars in flying unseen highways. No smart phones or tablets, we will be in machines that we can control by brain , so whenevre we think about something it appears in front of us , projected in the air that nobody can see except us . Also i think that we will be living in another planet where robots will control instead of humans. We will be living in a different situation where they will be no more doctors or medicine , whenever we feel sick we just have to get into a machine that scans the illness and cures it automatically. Babys will be born smart , even the women will no get pregnant for 9month , 1 day is enough.

The most thriving science now is biomedical engineering. I believe it will have been highly developed in 2020. All of diseases will have been conquered. Immortal men may will exist that could bring endless problem. Most of resources will have been dominated by those people who never die; as a result, those who don't able to do the surgeon will be deprived. The society will have been divided into two extreme worlds, The war between them will never end. I guess the immortal men, unfortunately, will win the war because of their overwhelming advantage of power. They don't care these fading human at all. They will have been replaced by robots and drones which is more efficient. Those immortal winners, however, may have a more miserable end. They will stop evolving and lose curiosity without these challenge in life. Finally, an unpredictable disaster will come and kill all of people who losing the spirit of fighting and struggling.

Good future perfect.
By 2020 we will be communicating with each other by thoughts. Actually we will just need to think and the other person will be able to get it. Every single point in the world will have access to the internet. By that time researchers will have invented the lie's detector. This product will have been used by teachers and parents for 2 years at that time. The last thing is that by 2020 we will be able to buy things online and print it directly at home, just seating in front of our computer.
