The reading passage describes the American's preference to put their children in to a single-sex school, because they believe the performance can increase if the class is formed by the same sex.
It continues saying that Girls could have more advantages in this model, once their self-esteem would become stronger. However, this thesis was no longer support by the American Association of University Women, because it was reinforcing the old way of thinking that are activities for women and others for men.
Finally, the question came up again with full endorsement that children should return to an educational single-sex classrooms again, because there is no factual reason to separate them.

  2. American parents meant their children to attend in a single-sex school. Also, some public schools want single-sex class, but the federal denied their claim. Moreover, girls keep more confidence when they at ten in a single-sex school because in coed school teachers sometimes pay more attention to boys and lead girls feel less successful. However, there are no evidence support the claim that girls performed better without boys in the classroom. There still have some controversies between coed and single-sex education.

At first, only rich parents and parents who have strong religious or culture reasons will send their children to the single-sex schools. And then some reports show that children, especially girls, will achieve more in single-sex schools. So more and more parents try to send their children to the single-sex schools. But at last, the latest reports show that all-female schools may actually be detrimental to a girl's education. So this issue has fostered a controversy among Americans

The reading mentions to the issue that Americans would rather send their children for the single-sex schooling. This issue brings a lot of benefits for girls such as raising girl's self-esteem, gaining confidence, having their own voices in class. Based on the article, most American parents couldn't afford to send their child to single-sex school because it is not supported by the government. Thus, whether girls should be in separating education or not is the most concern in law.

  5. Americans are electing to send their children to single sex schools because they strongly believe that their children can perform better in the company of students of the same sex. This issue has brought a lot of controversy; however, federal support has been denied to all of the requests made by the public schools because they cannot discriminate on the basis of sex.

  6. Single-sex schools trend is spreading in the United States after it has been common in Catholic families and the wealthy, nowadays Americans are preferring to send their children to these schools as they think that these schools would have greater benefits than the Coed ones especially on girls who tend to lack or have a major drop in their self confidence at the Coed schools due to the competition with other boys, however, it has been said that the federal government is not to support these schools financially although many requests were applied.

  7. The passage shows that many american parents are considering to send their children to a single sex school because they are convinced that they will perform much better in studies.however, only wealthy family's could send their kids in such institutions since public schools can't separate sexes due to the discrimination.Furthermore,it says that girls and boys are not productive in the same classes.Indeed more attention for boys who tend to perform well in sciences field then girls would be less confident consequently less successful. To conclude, according to the AAUW,the solution will be to separate sexes. However, that position still controversial because the educational system will go back to the ancient ways.

  8. Life´s changing. Education has been criticized in the last years, and people dont´t know what or who´s the responsible of this declining. Co-education is a possible mistake for some people. There are people who blame the teachers, other who blame the students, and some who say that the government isn´t enforcing the education.
As I learned the last semester, single sex schools have pros and cons as the same way as co-ed.
In conclusion, certainly, we can assure that education is personal. Every human learns in different ways. Therefore, what we´re trying to say is that there aren't bad systems of education just different ways of learning.

  9. Americans rather send their children to single-sex than coed schools because it would help them achieve more. Girls feel overshadowed when they see the perfomance of boys in school, specially in science, making them lose confidence and impeding them to show their real skills. It is well known that public single sex education is aganist the law in the US, so only wealthy families could afford this type of education. Eventhough a lot of parents support single-sex schools, it seems that goverment is not going to make changes in the laws .

For many years, the choice of single-sex education schools was only reserved for parents who could afford to send their child in private schools, for religious or cultural reasons.US public school, coeducational and free wasn't very fashionable at that moment.
Since then, things have changed.Americans choose, more and more,to send their children to single-sex school. That rebirth of single-sex school is more advantageous for girls.According to some studies,in coed classrooms girls don't have opportunity to blossom like boys do.In fact, most girls lose motivation. They aren't really invested in studies.Simply because teachers are more focused on boys.
However, that way of thinking isn't approved unanimously.Indeed,we have partisan of single-sex school who thing that girls can't really blossom in schools which are coeducational and those who claim that educational system ''reinforce regressive notions of sex differences''.

The feelings that we remember from our school’s time might be related with the single-sex or coed class policies that our old school have. In the past the reason for choosing single-sex schools was just for religion or cultural reasons, but recently citizen of the United States have started to think that single-sex school can blossom their children. Attitude and self-steem in girls and boys are the main concern of this renewed interest in separated sex schools. This controversial topic needs to be studying carefully and avoiding discrimination of any kind.

  12. In U.S some parents send their children to single sex education school considering their religion and culture, and most of parents tend to choose single sex education school despite non federal support. Most of them believe that coed influences harmfully girls by making them feel less successful and making them lose their confidence. AAUW's first report was also supporting these ideas. However, in AAUW's last report, it is indicated that single sex education doesn't make girls more successful. After that, many starts to believe single sex education reinforces regressive notions of sex differences. Finally it hasn't clarified yet whether single sex education is more beneficial or not.
